Several people were polled and here are the 2 questions they were asked.

#1 WHAT IS THE KEY TO GETTING INTO HEAVEN?

• Living a good life. 65.5%
• Having connections to someone at the top. 26.7%
• Helping old ladies cross the street. 2.7%
• Slipping St. Peter $20.00. 1.9%
• Having a strong letter of reference. 0.5%
• Making a deal with the devil. 1.2%
• Telling a really good lie. 0.5%

#2 ARE YOU GOING TO HEAVEN?

• Yes. 89.8%
• No. 10.2%

WOW! All I can say is WOW!

90% of this group surveyed is going through life feeling good about themselves. They are going through each day “thinking” they are going to heaven, when in reality, they are destined for eternal separation from God; all because of believing in a lie.

Jesus makes it very clear in John 14:6 that there in ONE WAY and ONE WAY ONLY to an eternity in heaven.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. John 14:6 (NIV)

This survey should be a wake-up call for us to share the TRUTH of Jesus Christ with a lost, confused, and dying world. We have a responsibilty as Christians to “go and make disciples”. If we don’t, then who will???

Guys and girls…let me encourge you to take advantage of every opportunity you have to share Jesus with someone. What if you were the only chance your classmates had of knowing the truth about Jesus? How would you feel knowing you kept the secret to eternal life from them?

Satan has our country convinced that this “do good gospel” will get them into heaven. We are the only ones who can help them remove the blinders and see the light of Jesus. Let’s get out there and share the TRUTH!!!

This year, I’ve decided to change things up a bit. We are planning to go to Hilton Head Island the last full week of June instead of attending MFuge. The dates for the trip are June 22nd – 29th. It’s going to be a great week of Bible study, fellowship, activities, and oh yeah….BEACH TIME! Please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to go with us so that I can reserve your spot. Cost will be based on the number of students going so the sooner you guys can let me know, the better.

It’s hard for me to beleive that so much time has passed! That sad and somber anniversary got me to thinking about something; something that I am deeply grateful for. I can still heat my grandmother singing, “The Old Rugged Cross” as she stood over the stove cooking dinner. Hers was a quietly strong faith; one that was more demonstrated than talked about. I thank God for godly parents and grandparents and for the folks in the little country church that I grew up in who lived their faith out loud in front of me. I pray that one day my children and grandchildren and the children at Neals Creek will be able to say the same thing about me (and you)!

And that tonight there is a freeze warning! The one thing that you can count on when it comes to the weather around here is that you won’t have to wait long before it changes!

I’ve been reminded these past few days as the weather heats up and cools down, that there remains one constant in my life: My God never changes! He is the same, “yesterday, today and forever.” No matter what changes around me and how drastically, Jesus remains my sure and steady foundation.

Some of our church folks asked me this week if I had been watching it and what I thought about it; so here goes! I have been watching and I certainly have enjoyed what I’ve seen so far. Indeeed there has been some dramitc license taken, but all in all it seems that great care has been taken to stay true to the text. What I am thankful for is that the gospel is getting out! “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” – John 12:32
